About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8.5 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: California state license required; pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required Must-Have: Flexibility in schedule, ability to float as needed, experience in pre-operative and post-operative care Description: For pre and post-operative care, start times vary depending on the area assigned for the day. Shifts can start as early as 0600 and stagger until 0830. Candidates must be flexible in their scheduling. Nurses scheduled for PACU are expected to complete their shifts. Outpatient surgery does not provide shift relief. The position requires commitment to working on three of five specified holidays. Candidates must submit all requests for time off at the time of application. Refusal to float between facilities may result in termination of the assignment. Daily patient census includes a variety of outpatient surgeries. Primary responsibilities span pre-op assessment and education, as well as recovery care. All nursing staff may be assigned to work with different patient age groups, from adolescents to geriatrics. No weekend shifts or holidays are required aside from the specified holiday commitment. This position involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care. The position requires knowledge of specific surgical protocols and patient management strategies.
