Title: VP – Senior Credit Analyst (Larger Corporates) Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY Base Salary: $140k - $155k + Bonus Overview This Vice President-level opportunity sits within the Credit Risk function of a well-established global financial institution, serving as a senior independent credit analyst responsible for the rigorous evaluation and assessment of credit proposals across a diversified corporate portfolio. The role carries real committee presence — preparing comprehensive credit assessments and presenting and defending cases directly before senior credit leadership — while also contributing to portfolio monitoring, policy development, and the mentorship of junior staff. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze credit proposals submitted by coverage and origination teams on a timely basis; conduct independent due diligence and risk analysis on prospective transactions across a range of corporate sectors and structures. Prepare comprehensive credit assessments including risk opinions, financial projections, and stress testing scenarios for review by senior credit leadership prior to formal approval. Present and defend credit cases before the Credit Approval Committee; ensure all applicable conditions precedent are satisfactorily met prior to closing and funding. Monitor credit agreement compliance including covenant tracking; review legal documentation with a focus on credit terms including covenants, collateral, amortization, pricing, and other key provisions. Manage post-closing responsibilities including interim and annual credit reviews in coordination with coverage teams; ensure adherence to audit, loan review, and regulatory requirements. Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned sectors and product types; coach and develop junior credit analysts on analytical frameworks and best practices. Support credit portfolio reporting and MIS functions; contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of credit policies, procedures, and internal training material. Act as a risk manager with full accountability for identifying, escalating, and managing credit risk; demonstrate consistent risk discipline through adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and controls.
