Summary The Maintenance Electrician position is located at the Goodfellow Federal Building, 4300 Goodfellow Blvd, St. Louis, MO. The technician ensures that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the facility operates at peak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The technician reports to a program manager and interacts with GSA, GSA customers and third‑party vendors. Job Duties Reports and records work order details, including time taken to perform repairs and material consumed. Provides work order documentation to the NCMMS Production Clerk at the end of each shift. Utilizes safe working practices; applies lockout/tagout, MSDS, good housekeeping methods, and can type and use common administrative and office software. When necessary, performs daily walk‑through of the facility documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature and humidity, and alarm status. Manages mechanical and electrical systems in emergency situations, including HVAC components, power distribution equipment, generator systems, load transfer and control systems, UPS systems, DC power systems, fire and life safety. Identifies required materials and parts for maintenance and repair; prepares and presents cost estimates for parts, equipment, and supplies for proposed installation or repairs to facilitate procurement. Schedules, coordinates, and oversees all critical environment vendors during maintenance, emergency, and break‑fix events to ensure personnel safety and maintain power to the critical load. Has keen knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards, including at minimum NFPA‑70, NFPA‑110, NFPA‑99, and NFPA‑101. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested. Physical Abilities Lift at least 75 pounds at one time. Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English. May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Valid Journeymen or Masters license required. Pay Rate: $38.11 + 15% Hazard Pay Hourly Fringe Rate: $4.93 Signing Bonus: $1,500 A background check and drug screen will be conducted for this position.
