Accounting Manager

Explore opportunities to grow your career with us or one of our clients Accounting Manager A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and grant-related accounting activities for a growing nonprofit organization. Reporting to senior financial leadership, this role will play a key part in supporting month-end close, audit preparation, budgeting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close. Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules. Monitor grant expenditures and assist with grant reporting requirements. Support the annual audit process and provide requested documentation. Maintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis. Review transactions for proper coding and allocation across funding sources. Maintain accounting records within QuickBooks and other financial systems. Identify opportunities for process improvements and stronger internal controls. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2 years of nonprofit accounting experience preferred. Experience with grant-funded organizations and government funding sources preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
