This position contributes to the hotel's commitment to high quality guest satisfaction and teamwork by safely and efficiently maintaining the property i.e. performs preventative maintenance; repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment. The employee may direct the work of other maintenance staff, delegating tasks and instructing them in the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in a variety of building and mechanical trades. This is a perfect position for someone looking to grow into a future Chief Engineer!

Rate of Pay: $24.00-$26.00/hour

Skills Required:

Provide high level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure. Leadership, problem-solving, and basic computer skills; must be able to adapt to utilizing technology such as "Alice"; ability to share knowledge and teach others to perform tasks, high level customer service, effective communication with guests and team members, able to follow instructions, learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure.

Technical:

• Solid experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment
• General carpentry skills; knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools required
• Certified Pool Operator (if property has pool or water park)
• Ability to safely and correctly use poser tools and equipment; know the occupational hazards, and be knowledgeable of required safety precautions

Experience / Education:

• Minimum 2 year of general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade profession; Vocational School Certification preferred

Physical Demands:

• This is a very physically demanding job that requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting and kneeling. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable eligible individuals to perform the essential functions.
