Respiratory Therapist - New Grad - All Locations

Job Summary This position provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to both in-patients and out-patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. The role includes monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing, analyzing, and reporting arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, and assisting with changing artificial airways. Services are provided as ordered by a physician and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient. Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures. Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient served in the assigned area. Maintain professional certifications and up-to-date knowledge of technical procedures. Attend staff meetings. Perform additional related duties as required. Required Education Associate's Degree. Required Experience None. Required Certifications Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (for NICU‑trained therapists). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard use. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals. Strong analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical & Environmental Demands Very heavy work: occasional exertion of in excess of 100 pounds, frequent exertion of in excess of 50 pounds, and constant exertion of in excess of 20 pounds. The role may involve walking, standing, pushing, or pulling. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue is routine.
