Histologist

Knowledge of the process of all aspects of the histology lab, including tissue processing, microtomy, special staining procedures and immunohistochemistry used for tissue differentiation and diagnosis.

Ability to work with precision and care to ensure accuracy and efficiency under periods of pressure and stress.

Ability to establish rigid controls to ensure all specimens are properly identified as to source and type.

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred skills and experience:

• 1 or more years of related work experience

Required education:

• Associates degree in Histology or Natural Sciences

Required certifications & licensure:

• HTL or HT certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists

Preferred certifications:

• Bachelor's degree
