Accounting Controller

As the Accounting Controller, you will play a crucial role in directing and managing our organization's accounting operations. You will ensure the integrity of financial information, implement effective internal controls, and complete monthly and annual close processes in a timely and accurate manner. Your financial analysis and reporting will support key operational and executive decision-making. Key Responsibilities Direct daily accounting operations: oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, fixed assets, and cash management. Manage the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee construction accounting functions, including job costing, work-in-progress schedules, and change order tracking. Collaborate with project managers to analyze project financial performance and support profitability improvement initiatives. Enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Serve as the primary accounting system resource for Vista accounting software. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service partners as required. Mentor accounting staff and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles (e.g., job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting). Leadership experience with direct reports. Familiarity with Vista accounting software or similar systems. Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a senior-level accounting position or related fields. Background in heavy civil, infrastructure, or pipeline construction environments is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Compensation Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Work Location and Conditions This position is based onsite at our corporate headquarters in Troy, Missouri, with regular in-office attendance required. Collaborate closely with executive leadership, project management, and accounting teams to achieve our financial objectives.
