About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to spearhead the development and management of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide compliance program. The CCO will be tasked with designing, implementing, and overseeing the integration of compliance across a diverse range of operations, including clinical, research, academic, physician, ambulatory, insurance, and administrative functions. This pivotal role involves leading the transformation of the compliance function, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that the program is capable of supporting the organization's size, complexity, and growth. The successful candidate will also serve as the primary liaison with external regulators and will be instrumental in evaluating the compliance implications of strategic initiatives. Candidates for the CCO position at the company should have a strong background in healthcare compliance, with a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in the field, particularly within large, complex (academic) health systems. A certification in healthcare compliance is required, and a JD or advanced degree in a related field is strongly preferred. The role demands a leader with excellent strategic and risk-based decision-making skills, the ability to manage regulatory audits and investigations, and a proven track record of guiding organizational responses to compliance issues. The CCO will be expected to work closely with executive leadership, the Board, and various stakeholders, and must be adept at fostering collaboration in diverse environments.
