Even if you feel like you don't meet all the criteria, please give it a shot, and still apply.Key Responsibilities:Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards, job specifications and company requirements.Develop and deliver training programs to assist team members in obtaining QA certifications.Evaluate and improve current QA processes and procedures.Perform ultrasonic testing (UT) and other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to detect and report on material flaws.Mentor and guide team members in best practices for quality assurance and testing.Maintain up-to-date records of certifications and training activities.Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve quality-related issues.Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to quality assurance and NDT.Comply with DSCO QMS program for all procedures, guidelines, shop NCR's and opportunity for improvementsTests ambient base metal temps to assure correct level maintained throughout shiftsAdvise fab shop employees when pre-heats are requiredReview drawings and advise of special conditions: NDT, AESS, or tolerances outside AISC standardVerify material size, shape, overall length, profile, porosity, undercut, overlap, fusions, spatter, weld identifications and marking for correct piece markAssess member for distortion created by welding and handlingExamine for camber and sweepAssure all required grinding is complete; including all burrs are removedAnalyze and confirm arc strikes ground and repairedCheck material size, shape, overall length, hole size, spacing, stub dimensions, block-outs/copes, template locations, bevels/skews/radius, marking for correct piece markMark welds for welders (size and location)Review drawings for any special fit-up notesRead and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols and specificationsUse hand tools (tape measurer, grinder, cutting torch, etc.)Understanding of ASTM A-6 tolerancesLayout and mark weld points or sub-assemblies using rule, square, scribe or templateVarious duties as assigned by management as needs ariseWork Location:Chesnee Fabrication Facility1st ShiftMonday to FridayPosition Requirements:Level II UT (Ultrasonic Testing) Certification5+ years welding/fitting experience as a top welder/fitter in a fabrication settingAWS Certified Welding InspectorCurrent NDT Level II: UT, MT, PT or ability and commitment to obtain within 24 monthsCWB Welding Supervisor (Preferred)Welder qualifications preferred: D1.1, 1G, & 2FProven experience in training and certifying team members in QA practicesBenefits:401(k) Retirement Plan & Matching ContributionsHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
