Registered Nurse

Overview This is a full‑time position Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with no weekends, calls, or major holidays. The role can be Level 1, 2, or Senior based on candidate experience. The Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) will support Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Infusion Departments at our San Marcos, New Braunfels, and Kyle locations. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material. Provide psychosocial support to patients and families. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart. Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Inter‑professional collaboration. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 0–3 years nursing experience, preferably including at least one year in oncology (Level 1). 3–5 years nursing experience including at least one year in oncology (Level 2). Five years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology (Senior). Working Conditions The work environment includes possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing within normal range. #J-18808-Ljbffr Texas Oncology
