Fatherhood Project – Employment & Co-Parenting Specialist

The Fatherhood Project helps men become responsible, committed, and nurturing fathers while strengthening their relationships with their children. This position provides employment and co-parenting support to fathers, helping them overcome barriers, obtain and maintain employment, meet child support obligations, and achieve greater self-sufficiency. Key Responsibilities

Conduct employment intakes, assessments, and documentation, identifying client strengths, goals, and barriers.

Assist clients with resumes, interview preparation, job searches, employment applications, and obtaining identification.

Provide individual and group employment, prevention, education, and co-parenting services using established curricula.

Develop vocational goals, service plans, and measurable outcomes based on client needs.

Connect clients with employment, community, and supportive services and provide appropriate referrals.

Monitor participant progress and conduct follow-ups at required intervals.

Build relationships with employers, schools, community organizations, and other partners.

Conduct employment verifications and maintain accurate, timely case records and program data.

Prepare required reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Collaborate with program staff to address client needs and resolve employment-related challenges.

Recruit community partners for co-parenting and prevention programs.

Maintain compliance with agency policies, program standards, and applicable regulations.

Drive as needed for job duties and perform other assigned responsibilities.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of local employment opportunities, workforce trends, and barriers to employment.

Ability to assess client strengths and needs, develop service plans, and provide vocational guidance.

Strong communication, documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to de-escalate and respond appropriately to client crises.

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, as permitted by applicable regulations.

Must become a Registered Applicant (RA) and obtain Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA) certification within 13 months of hire.

Must obtain NPCL Co-Parenting Curriculum Certification within 120 days of employment.

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Commitment to maintaining current prevention, education, and curriculum standards.

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, handling, talking, and listening. Occasional driving and other physical activities may be required based on job duties.
