Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment, responding quickly to equipment failures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and increase equipment reliability.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to maintain optimal performance.Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment using appropriate tools and methods.Troubleshoot equipment failures and respond quickly to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime.Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future failures.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing equipment downtime and increasing reliability across the facility.Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance plans and manufacturer recommendations.Monitor equipment performance and participate in predictive maintenance activities to identify potential failures before they occur.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories to ensure traceability and compliance with internal procedures.Essential SkillsProven experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.Strong mechanical repair skills with the ability to service and overhaul production machinery and related systems.Hands-on troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.Ability to diagnose complex equipment failures and determine effective repair strategies under time constraints.Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment issues.Capability to execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities in line with maintenance plans and manufacturer guidelines.Skill in monitoring equipment performance and participating in predictive maintenance programs.Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories using manual or digital systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground as a maintenance technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.Familiarity with continuous improvement practices aimed at reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.Comfort working with a variety of manufacturing equipment types, including automated and semi-automated systems.Strong attention to detail when documenting maintenance activities and equipment history.Ability to collaborate effectively with production and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities.Why Work Here?Join a manufacturing environment that values reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. The environment is fast-paced, with occasional urgent breakdowns that require quick response and effective troubleshooting. Work may involve standing for extended periods, moving between different areas of the facility, and using standard maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carbondale, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
