Assistant Commercial Construction Project Manager

Position Overview

A well-established and growing commercial construction company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects. Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects.
  
  
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, documentation, and coordination.
  
  
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
  
  
• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
  
  
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination.
  
  
• Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with project stakeholders.
  
  
• Assist with cost tracking, pay applications, purchase orders, and budget updates.
  
  
• Monitor project schedules and help identify potential delays or issues.
  
  
• Coordinate with Superintendents and field personnel to support project execution.
  
  
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  
  
• Assist with project closeout activities.
  
  
• Build positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  
  
• Support the Project Manager in ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety expectations.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
  
  
• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar construction role is a plus.
  
  
• Strong understanding of construction plans and project documentation.
  
  
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  
  
• Ability to work effectively with field and office teams.
  
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
