Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide skilled therapeutic services that help residents improve their mobility, strength, function, independence, and quality of life .

This position is ideal for a licensed PTA who values quality patient care, teamwork, accurate documentation, and positive resident outcomes .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Carry out individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and established care plans.

• Accurately and timely document treatments, resident progress, and daily charges.

• Maintain department productivity and quality standards.

• Communicate resident progress, concerns, and changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, utilization reviews, and other care planning activities.

• Educate residents, families, and nursing staff on restorative programs, home exercise programs, and other therapeutic activities as directed.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.

• Monitor therapy equipment and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.

• Participate in facility performance improvement and quality initiatives.

• Travel or float between facilities as assigned based on resident and operational needs.

• Maintain compliance with Medicare, reimbursement, documentation, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Current state license, certification, or registration as a PTA, as applicable.

• Knowledge of Medicare, documentation, and therapy reimbursement requirements preferred.

• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Dependable, compassionate, organized, and patient-focused.

• Commitment to providing safe, high-quality therapeutic care.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the workday.

• Ability to safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds , as required.

• Ability to assist with transfers, mobility activities, and therapeutic exercises.

• Ability to manage the physical and emotional demands associated with patient care.

• Comfortable working in a clinical and skilled nursing environment.
