Electrical Assistant Project Manager

Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Electrical Construction Position Summary The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager and Superintendent in the planning, coordination, scheduling, and administration of commercial electrical construction projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a leading commercial electrical contractor. Key Responsibilities Assist with project planning, scheduling, and overall project coordination. Review contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements. Support the development and maintenance of project schedules and quality control programs. Assist with subcontractor and procurement coordination. Help develop and maintain site-specific safety and logistics plans. Track project costs and support budget management throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation. Participate in project planning and progress meetings. Prepare project status reports and assist with executive reporting. Coordinate punch list completion, owner training, closeout documentation, O&M manuals, and warranty packages. Identify and communicate project risks that may impact cost, schedule, quality, or client satisfaction. Collaborate with field leadership, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to ensure successful project execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor. Experience supporting commercial electrical construction projects. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (experience with scheduling and project management platforms is preferred). Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, quality control, safety practices, and construction documentation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
