North Suffolk is looking for a Clinician to join our Emergency Services team! The  Co-Responding Mobile Coordinator works directly with the Medford Police Department and will ride along with Medford Police Officers in order to directly engage with clients in the community in need of acute psychiatric care.  This position provides direct emergency psychiatric clinical services to youth, their families, and individuals along with coordination and consultation to other care providers also involved. This clinician will work collaboratively with the Medford Police and to be available to assist the City of Medford with calls for individuals exhibiting signs of mental health related distress, to provide assessments in the community or at the police station and deliver rapid access to community mental health, substance abuse and psychiatry services, including urgent linkage to the Mobile Crisis Intervention team and other North Suffolk Community Services programs.

This is an on-site position in Medford, with the expectation of mobile response and co response with the Medford Police Department.

Two positions available - Full-Time 40 hours; Monday - Friday. 7am - 3pm & Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm

What you'll do:

• Collaborate directly with the Medford Police Department (MPD) and be available to assist MPD officers with calls for individuals exhibiting signs if mental health distress, to provide real-time onsite, in the community or at the police station evaluations and rapid access to other community supports.
• Provide, along with other emergency services staff continuity of support, coordination of disposition planning and treatment services for the duration of the co response episode of care according to clinical need.
• Identify needs and strengths; assist in planning, implementing and evaluating necessary care for individuals, children and families in conjunction with community resources.
• Coordinate the appropriate network of health and human service agencies so as to maximize the opportunities for growth and self-reliance for individuals, children and their families in the community. 
• Asses crisis or emergency situations and intervene immediately with appropriate treatment for clients
• Other duties as assigned by emergency services management staff. 
• Weekends, Holiday and shift rotation will be required.

What you'll need:

• Education:
  • Master's Degree in relevant human services clinical specialty that is Medicaid reimbursable required.
• Experience: 
  • Minimum one year in a psychiatric emergency service or similar setting required.
  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred. Please indicate language capabilities in application!
• Other Skills:
  • Valid drivers license and access to a car required. Off site travel is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, or Haitian Creole is strongly preferred.
