Lead Medical Support Assistant

Job TitleThe incumbent provides leadership and oversight to subordinate Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) assigned to outpatient clinic areas within the Medicine Division.Responsibilities include:Assigning, monitoring, and evaluating the work of subordinate staff.Ensuring accurate processing of all patient movements between VISTA and CPRS, verifying orders, and confirming adherence to established procedures.Resolving complex operational issues to ensure patient care needs and organizational goals are met.Assessing new products, equipment, and systems and recommending improvements to operational workflows.Identifying training and educational needs; participating in staff interviews and contributing to selections.Evaluating employee performance and initiating appropriate administrative actions when required.Conducting Weingarten meetings and proposing disciplinary actions as necessary.Approving leave requests and monitoring leave balances with appropriate follow-up.Attending training sessions and participating in medical center-level initiatives.Extracting, analyzing, and reporting data to support performance measures for senior leadership.Work Schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday - FridayTelework: Not AuthorizedVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Functional Statement #: 10517FRelocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
