About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Legal Affairs with a focus on privacy and product. The successful candidate will be a key member of the legal team, responsible for a wide range of privacy, product, and consumer-protection legal matters. This role requires a subject matter expert in state and federal privacy and consumer protection laws, including data security, data governance, and various regulatory issues. The VP will be expected to coordinate with internal clients, maintain knowledge of legal developments, manage a data governance program, and oversee the drafting and negotiation of technology and privacy agreements. Additionally, the role involves conducting due diligence on third-party vendors, coordinating with franchise attorneys, and managing legal compliance for consumer-facing websites and applications. Applicants for the VP of Legal Affairs position at the company should have a Juris Doctor degree, a minimum of 4 years' of experience in privacy and consumer protection law, and be a member of at least one U.S. state bar. The role demands a professional with a strong ethical foundation, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and have a proven track record of sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving. Basic proficiency in MS Office is required, and the ability to travel as needed.
