Job Description:

• Serves as a principal investigator for multiple studies in area of expertise and aligned to Rogers Research strategic priorities.
• Surveys literature to identify gaps in existing knowledge and opportunities for generalizable research studies.
• Formulates appropriate research questions and hypotheses pertaining to the phenomena of interest.
• Selects and incorporates appropriate research designs, methods and analytic procedures
• Schedule data collection and engagement with human research subjects and participants
• Engages and collaborates with other research personnel, including research assistants, coordinators, clinical personnel and staff who may be essential in guiding and facilitating the design and conduct of the research project(s).
• Supervises student research protocols, where applicable.
• Provides instruction on methods and techniques needed to conduct psychological research
• Completes and submits grant applications, as available and appropriate, with the goal of obtaining additional research support funding.
• Disseminates findings at departmental workshops, academic conferences, internal and external venues, invited lectures, and appropriate journals, books and/or periodicals.
• Demonstrates and acts with full understanding and compliance of policies and procedures governing the conduct of research at Rogers, and federal regulations, where applicable.
• Develops instruments and tools for data collection.
• Develops and submits all materials required for Internal Review Board and Rogers administrative approvals for individual research projects, including budgets, resources, hypothesis, aims, risks, risk mitigation and annual review, where applicable.
• Assists with administrative tasks and establishing infrastructure, policies and procedures during start-up of the Rogers Research Center as defined by Rogers Research Center Leadership and current priorities.
• Assists other research psychologists and research staff with questions and feedback regarding other research projects. Provides review, constructive critique, suggestions and techniques aimed at improving the quality and impact of research done at Rogers.
• Appropriately discloses and protects innovations and ideas resulting from novel research conducted in the Rogers Research Center.
• Serves on committees or advisory boards as appropriate to expertise and background that serve the quality, integrity and operations of the Rogers Research Center.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Required Experience:

• Doctorate degree, in psychology, psychiatry or very closely related field.
• Has completed a postdoctoral training program or independent research in an academic or accredited clinical research center
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of scientific method, and ability to conduct critical research without bias or influence
• Thorough understanding and observation of ethical guidelines and regulations relating to human subject research.
• Minimum of 10 lead author peer-reviewed manuscripts in high impact journals
• Prior experience, preparing, conducting, writing and presenting organized human subject research projects, preferred
• Exceptional written communication skills, phrasing, editing and organizing technical documents.
• Prior experience as an investigator or grant awardee preferred, but not required.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office required.
