Cloud Architect

Global technology client through a strategic cloud modernization initiative focused on accelerating the development of container-based applications in Azure. This engagement centers on designing and implementing a scalable, secure, and efficient containerized development pipeline to support the client's growing use of Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps. A Cloud Architect will provide architectural direction, re-architecture recommendations, and hands-on guidance to help the client overcome gaps in containerization expertise and establish a robust CI/CD framework that supports long-term scalability and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the architectural strategy for containerized application development in Azure.
- Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines tailored for Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps.
- Provide hands-on guidance for containerization best practices, including image management, orchestration, and deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to align infrastructure and application architecture.
- Assess existing systems and recommend re-architecture strategies to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ensure security, reliability, and compliance across the containerized development lifecycle.
- Document architecture decisions, pipeline configurations, and operational procedures to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
- Proven experience as a senior-level Cloud Architect with a strategic mindset and hands-on implementation capabilities.
- Deep expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Container Apps and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar pipeline orchestration tools.
- Ability to provide architectural direction and re-architecture recommendations in complex cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
