Electrical journeyman

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to job specifications and safety standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine project requirements.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems issues, implementing effective solutions promptly.
• Collaborate with apprentices and junior electricians to provide guidance and training.
• Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
• Communicate effectively with project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate activities and ensure timely project completion.

Requirements

• Valid journeyman electrician license or certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrical journeyman in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy materials and working in various environments.
