We are seeking candidates interested in rural, community based EMS.****GENERAL OVERVIEW**Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the pre-hospital and hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of emergency medical care.**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES*** Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting. (50%)* Drives emergency vehicle. (20%)* Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)* Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)* Performs other duties as assigned or required**QUALIFICATIONS**Minimum* High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* PA EMT certification or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT levelPreferred* Six months’ experience in the field of prehospital care.* ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS.**Additional Employment Requirements:*** EMSVO within 30 days of hire* Valid Driver's License* CPR – American Heart Association* Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate* Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate* Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate***Disclaimer:*** *The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
