A Special Education Autism Teacher is expected to design and implement highly individualized instruction and behavior management plans for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They adapt curricula, track data, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and parents, and supervise paraprofessionals to foster academic, social, and life skills. Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Develop, execute, and monitor IEP goals specifically tailored to each student's unique learning style, sensory needs, and communication abilities. Behavior Intervention: Design and implement evidence-based behavior management strategies (e.g., Applied Behavior Analysis) to promote positive behaviors and de-escalate emotional or physical outbursts. Curriculum Adaptation: Modify general education standards and create alternative, accessible lessons for students functioning at various cognitive and developmental levels. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and general education teachers to ensure holistic, integrated support. Family Communication: Maintain regular, transparent communication with parents and caregivers to provide updates on progress and share strategies for home
