Process Engineer

Uniquetex LLC in Grover, NC is looking for a Process Engineer. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the development, configuration, and optimization of industrial manufacturing processes to maintain process safety, reliability, efficiency, and product quality. The Process Engineer will assist with data collection, testing preparation, documentation, quality support, ergonomic assessments, and continuous improvement activities within a nonwoven manufacturing environment.

The essential job duties include:

• Assist in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to support process safety, reliability, efficiency, and product quality within the nonwoven manufacturing environment.
• Participate in the design and planning of production processes, including product testing preparation, test condition confirmation, measurements, and basic data collection under supervision.
• Review and manage technical data for raw materials and auxiliary materials based on provided specifications and documentation such as TDS and MSDS.
• Coordinate with internal teams and support third-party lab testing and basic compliance activities as assigned.
• Support process improvement projects such as Lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, VSM), time and motion studies, workflow analysis, and resource planning by assisting with data gathering and implementation of instructed solutions.
• Monitor and record production line activities and assist in implementing standard operating procedures, process documentation, and product testing for quality and production enhancement.
• Collaborate with Quality Control staff to interpret test results and observe process modification activities for learning and process understanding.
• Assist with troubleshooting production interruptions and product quality issues by providing data support to technical teams in developing basic corrective actions.
• Help create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation following guidelines provided.
• Support equipment changeovers, production line adjustments, scheduling, or inventory-related activities by collecting operational input data and observing processes.
• Participate in ergonomic assessments and safety-related activities led by EHS staff.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of how product requirements, material characteristics, and manufacturing processes relate to each other in industrial production.
• Familiarity with basic engineering graphics tools, including exposure to 2D drafting or 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Experience with basic automation tools for data processing, such as VBA.
• Familiarity with discrete-event simulation software for production or operations analysis, such as Simio or similar software.
• Familiarity with concepts that integrate design and manufacturing, such as computer-aided or automated process planning, concurrent engineering, or rapid prototyping.
• Ability to work with data using spreadsheets or basic data management tools, with familiarity with SQL or similar query tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
