Location and Position Type Copperwood 2 Health Center - Glendale, AZ 85304 | Full Time Job Summary The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management services, working in coordination with outpatient Behavioral Health services to serve adult and youth clients with behavioral health issues. Duties and Responsibilities Provide psychiatric services to clients in a variety of clinical settings during scheduled hours, including outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Assess, diagnose, and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders. Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Collaborate with counselors, social workers, or other treatment team members to coordinate client care. Maintain accurate medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, outcome measures, and billing entries. Counsel clients during appointments as necessary. Design and participate in development of individualized treatment plans incorporating best practices. Order or examine laboratory or diagnostic tests to inform assessment of physical and mental conditions. Collaborate with guardians, relatives, and significant others about the client’s conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate. Prepare and submit assessments, progress notes, reports, and summaries to entities and agencies such as funders and insurance companies as required. Return calls and emails promptly (within 24 hours or sooner if clinically necessary). Make independent decisions based on protocols developed using national guidelines for treatment interventions. Maintain customer relations with all agency staff and clients. Submit at least 10% of records to the supervising Psychiatrist for biweekly review. Record all services performed for accurate billing in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and payor rules, and submit billing documents in a timely fashion. Seek ways to improve quality and provide teaching and education to clinical staff when requested. Follow all procedures and protocols as per NOAH policy, federal and state regulations, and standard practice. Actively participate in agency and department education, training, and in‑services to stay current with new information or changes to clinical policies and procedures. Attend, participate, and/or assist in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric nursing. Graduation from a state‑certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health. 1–2 years providing direct client care to individuals receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders. Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations. Preferred Experience 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric provider. Experience with telemedicine. License and Certifications Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in Arizona. Valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Arizona. State‑issued Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) in Arizona. Registration with the state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) where direct services will be provided. No suspension, exclusion, or debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP). Maintain credentials and licensure. Other Requirements Pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test. Pass a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain clearance within 7 days after hire.
