As an Inpatient Charge Nurse, you will serve as a clinical leader in a specialized intermediate care environment caring for patients with hematologic malignancies and other complex conditions. The Role The Stem Cell Transplant Unit is a specialized 15‑room intermediate care unit focused on Cellular Therapy, Stem Cell Transplantation, and recovery. With a supportive 1:3 nurse‑to‑patient ratio on both day and night shifts, nurses have the opportunity to deliver highly personalized care while developing advanced expertise in hematology‑oncology nursing. As the Charge Nurse, you will be a central leader on the unit, helping coordinate care delivery, support staff, and ensure a seamless patient experience. You will remain actively involved in patient care while serving as a trusted resource for the nursing team throughout each shift. Key responsibilities include: Leading daily unit operations to support safe patient flow and exceptional care delivery. Coordinating staffing assignments and resources based on patient acuity and needs. Serving as a clinical resource, coach, and mentor for nursing team members. Supporting care escalation and operational decision‑making. Facilitating communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary care teams. Promoting a positive, accountable, and patient‑focused practice environment. Supporting patient rounding, service recovery, and patient experience initiatives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing BSN/MSN program that will be completed within 5 years of hire. Experience: RN Clinician 2 or higher who has been employed on the unit for 6 months or has had previous Charge Nurse experience from another unit/organization. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $47.23 - $62.15 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
