Job Summary The Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success/Compliance reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics and will work with all Coaches and administrative leaders to promote student-athlete holistic development and serve as the day to day compliance leader in the Department. This position is intended to focus on developing and implementing content and programming and monitoring attendance/engagement for student-athlete workshops and events focused on academics, personal growth and wellness, career readiness and leadership development. This position will collaborate with Career Advancement, Student Wellness and other Campus Student Life units. This role will also oversee NCAA compliance rules education, monitoring and student eligibility processes and all required monitoring and reporting to promote an atmosphere of compliance. The Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success/Compliance will organize/develop student-athlete programming and support student-athlete groups, collaborate with other units and serve as an advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task and a commitment to fully engaging and embracing an educational and inclusive environment. Responsibilities Leads athletic department efforts and programming in the areas of holistic student-athlete development, leadership development, career development and campus engagement and social responsibility. Provide timely and accurate system of completing mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required by various agencies. Oversee and direct NCAA eligibility certification processes. Represent the department at the University, conference, and national levels as appropriate. Assure the timely investigation, resolution, and self-reporting of rules infractions as they occur. Opportunity for sport program oversight as the Sport Program Administrator or Secondary Sport Program Administrator to support and oversee team/s as assigned. Will be based on experience. Serves as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SMC). Compiles data/information for projects assigned by the Athletic Director. Connects athletes to cross campus resources that aid in the development of well-rounded student-athletes. Disseminates informational, educational, and promotional materials for welfare and academic enhancement opportunities and resources. Coordinates Aims of Athletics annual programming. Develops student-athlete newsletter/communications. Partners with administrative staff to provide communication updates to teams. Solves problems in areas such as academic and administrative policy, student admissions, curriculum research and development, and budget development. Recommends process improvements for programs that relate to critical student-life improvement, including emergency management, accommodations for students with disabilities, and/or the administration of health care services and programs for students. Collaborates with academic divisions in educating students on safety issues. Interprets student disciplinary issues and prepares an annual university summary of disciplinary actions. Counsels students, parents, and staff in response to concerns, and handles complex situations including student crises. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: --- Preferred Qualifications Education: Master's degree in related field. Experience: Working in athletics in a scholastic setting. Working in college athletics. Technical Skills or Knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred Competencies Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Highly organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task. Understanding of the collegiate athletic environment within a rigorous academic setting. Commitment to enriching the lives of student-athletes and enhancing their experience.
