Job Summary And Responsibilities Organizes and maintains a cancer patient data system which conforms to ACOS standards and meets the needs of users of the Kentucky Cancer Program. Assists in cancer registry operations. Performs data entry. Works with medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry database according to established guidelines. Performs abstracting activities by efficiently and accurately abstracting cancer registry data from the medical record. Collects, calculates, analyzes, interprets and presents numerical data related to cancer occurrence, case management and outcome measures. Job Requirements Associate of Science or equivalent education required to sit for certification. Experience in coding or transcription upon hire. Certified Tumor Registrar within 24 months. Where You'll Work Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268‑bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. The facility includes an advanced level trauma center, AirCare emergency helicopter transport, ambulance services, cardiac care with open‑heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at the Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
