Role Description The Front Desk Associate is a full‑time, on‑site role based at Hotel Viking in Newport, RI. This role is responsible for welcoming guests, completing check‑in and check‑out procedures, and managing room assignments with accuracy and attention to detail. Daily tasks include answering phones, responding to guest inquiries, processing payments, and coordinating with housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations. The Front Desk Associate will handle reservations and modifications in the property management system, resolve or escalate guest concerns professionally, and provide local information and recommendations to enhance the guest experience. This position requires consistent punctuality, adherence to hotel policies and procedures, and a commitment to delivering service that reflects the hotel’s historic yet contemporary character. Qualifications Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality, guest satisfaction, and problem resolution. Receptionist and front desk experience, including check‑in/check‑out procedures and general receptionist duties. Professional phone etiquette and the ability to manage multiple incoming calls efficiently and courteously. Computer literacy, including use of reservation or property management systems and basic office software. Clear, professional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact effectively with guests and teammates. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
