Contract | BizTek People, Inc. | APA International Placement Consultants | United States Posted On 05/19/2026 Job Information Job Opening ID 10091 Language Skills English Location Calipatria, CA Technology City Calipatria State/Province California 92233 Job Description The Sr Steam Turbine Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of major rotating equipment including steam turbines, cooling water pumps, and injection pumps. This role provides technical leadership, oversees maintenance programs, and serves as the owner’s representative for mechanical projects. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to, support, and enforce all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures. Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of main steam turbines, cooling water pumps and injection pumps, including development of written job scopes and procedures to complete major inspections on turbines and generators. Identify spare parts and verify stock of critical parts. Coordinate repair of turbine rotors and turbine parts. Have reliability, predictive and preventative maintenance activities completed for the major rotating equipment, including vibration analysis, lubrication analysis and thermography. Recommend major work activities for critical equipment during major overhauls. Responsible for the failure analysis program and coordinate investigations. Write the technical portion of contracts to be performed on rotating equipment. Serve as the owner’s representative for capital and expense mechanical projects. Provide technical leadership to staff. Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Requirements Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university engineering program. A professional engineering license is recommended for the senior level. Seven to ten years of experience and knowledge of steam turbine operation, maintenance and repair, power plant engineering, business/financial and contractual matters. Excellent communication skills to interface and communicate with all employees, superiors and vendors. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, blueprints, schematics and process and instrument diagrams. Capability of writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, the general public and employees at all levels. Competent in giving oral and written instruction that is understandable by all. Must be able to make clear and precise decisions in critical situations (accident sites) and evaluate safety/environmental concerns to develop a compliant procedure. Must have the ability to use technical skills to focus ideas onto substantial projects. Must show a willingness to learn and to clearly communicate complex ideas and concepts to those with less technical background. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, working in confined spaces, and tolerating extreme temperatures.
