About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Mid Shifts Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty License: RN license required Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: Experience working pre/post-operatively with varied surgical patient populations; Critical care background Description: This role involves working day and evening shifts of 10 hours, Monday through Friday. Start times range between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., depending on scheduling and operational needs. There may be an on-call requirement on weekends based on operational needs. On-call shifts may occur during the day or night based on departmental needs. Travelers should expect to have 1-2 weekend on-call shifts during the assignment. Experience with varied surgical patient populations is essential. Successful candidates must pass a telemetry test prior to starting. The responsibilities include independent peri-anesthetic management of a complex surgical population. Candidates are expected to develop therapeutic relationships by establishing trust. This role involves enabling patients and families to communicate their care requirements comfortably. The candidate must have strong experience in ICU and PACU settings. Critical care background is a requirement for this position. Travelers are required to float as needed within the facility. Passing criteria for assessments will be strictly enforced. Travelers will have two attempts to pass a telemetry exam, with specific passing scores for adult and pediatric assessments. If unsuccessful after two attempts, candidates must complete a cardiac interpretation review course prior to a third attempt. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in assignment cancellation.
