Communications & Marketing Coordinator Congregation B'nai Amoona is seeking a creative, organized, and collaborative Communications & Marketing Coordinator to help tell the story of our congregation and connect our community to the programs, people, and experiences that make B'nai Amoona special. The Communications & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing clear, timely, and engaging communications across digital, social, print, and media platforms. This position works closely with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to ensure communications are accurate, compelling, consistent, and aligned with the congregation's priorities and brand. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys both the creative and strategic sides of communications, from writing an email and designing a graphic to developing social media content, photographing an event, and helping a team determine the best way to reach its audience. Key Responsibilities Digital Communications Draft, build, schedule, and distribute the congregation's weekly e-newsletter and other email communications. Develop targeted email communications for programs, events, campaigns, and other congregational initiatives. Manage website content and ensure information remains current, accurate, and easy to navigate. Identify opportunities to improve website usability and strengthen pathways for members and visitors to find information. Social Media Help develop and execute a social media strategy designed to increase engagement and grow B'nai Amoona's digital presence. Maintain a content calendar aligned with congregational programs, holidays, events, and priorities. Create and publish engaging social media content, including written copy, graphics, photography, and video. Monitor social media performance, track monthly analytics, and recommend adjustments based on results. Graphic Design and Visual Content Serve as the congregation's primary graphic designer for social media, events, programs, community projects, advertisements, and other communications. Create visual materials for both digital and print use. Serve as photographer for major congregational programs and events. Help capture and create short-form video content when appropriate. Ensure visual materials consistently reflect B'nai Amoona's brand standards. Organize and maintain photo, video, graphic, and other communications assets. Proficiency in Canva is required. A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is also expected. Media and Public Relations Help develop and maintain relationships with Jewish and local media. Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and story pitches. Submit events, announcements, and significant congregational updates to appropriate media and community outlets. Identify opportunities to increase awareness of B'nai Amoona and its work throughout the greater community. Collaboration and Department Support Partner with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to support their communications and marketing needs. Coordinate communications timelines for major events, programs, and congregational initiatives. Support fundraising and development efforts by creating communications and promotional materials. Help departments determine the most effective way to communicate with their audiences. Maintain positive, responsive, and collaborative working relationships across the organization. What We're Looking For An excellent writer and editor with strong attention to detail, accuracy, grammar, and tone. A creative communicator who can translate ideas and information into compelling written and visual content. Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines at the same time. Organized, proactive, and able to work independently. Collaborative and responsive when working with staff, clergy, lay leaders, and community members. Comfortable moving between planning and hands-on execution. Skilled in social media content creation and digital communications. Proficient in Canva, with basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Comfortable with photography and creating visual content for digital platforms. This position is well suited for an early-career communications or marketing professional who is creative, eager to learn, and ready to take ownership of a broad range of projects. We value talent, initiative, good judgment, and a strong portfolio as much as years of experience. Work Structure This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director. Because congregational life does not always take place during traditional business hours, some evening and weekend work will be required for major programs, special events, and holiday seasons.
