Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30–5:00 PM. Position Summary This role coordinates all aspects of scheduling for physicians, medical facilities, and specialized medical practices across the campus, ensuring an exceptional patient experience at each point of service. Core Functions Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, facility resources, ancillary staff, records, referrals, authorizations, and payers, following established procedures to ensure timely care. Receives and executes physician orders, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, tests, and procedures using electronic medical record and scheduling systems, while identifying alternative solutions when needed. Provides patients with information, pre‑ and post‑test instructions, appointment locations, and directions, and refers questions to appropriate clinical staff. Communicates and builds relationships via phone, chat, email, and digital channels with patients, facilities, providers, and colleagues to deliver an easy, empathetic, solution‑oriented experience. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with at least two years of scheduling experience in a physician’s office or hospital. Working knowledge of medical terminology required for some assignments. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with office software and medical practice management/scheduling systems. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of ICD‑9, CPT, and HCPCS coding. Experience with various insurance plans and/or workers’ compensation. Bi‑lingual Spanish proficiency for some assignments. Additional related education or experience.
