Benefits Manager / Total Rewards Lead (Hybrid - Houston, TX)


We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the design, implementation, administration, and communication of employee benefit programs , ensuring full compliance with IRS and ERISA regulations while managing brokers, consultants, and vendors.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end benefits programs (health & welfare, retirement, wellness)
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, DOL regulations
• Design and manage plans including 401(k), 403(b), pension, non-qualified, life, AD&D, STD, and voluntary benefits
• Partner with Compensation, HRIS, and leadership to drive Total Rewards strategy
• Manage vendors, consultants, actuaries, and external partners
• Oversee HRIS enhancements and benefits systems automation
• Develop metrics and track ROI of benefit programs
• Lead, mentor, and develop benefits team
• Drive process improvements, escalations, and effective benefit communications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Business, HR, or related field
• 10+ years of benefits management experience in a healthcare system or complex organization
• Strong experience with HRIS systems
• Expertise in benefits design, compliance, and administration
• Certifications preferred: CBP, CEBS
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
