Middle School Girls Soccer Assistant Head coachPosition/Title: Assistant CoachPractice Begins: November 6, 2023Regular Season Ends: February 2, 2024Status: Seasonal, Non-Exempt, HourlyABOUT NEW ROADSIn an authentically diverse community reflective of Los Angeles, New Roads prepares young people for life by developing in them a personal dedication to learning, a respect for independent thinking, an expanding curiosity about the world and its people, and a commitment to the common good.POSITION SUMMARYDuties and Responsibilities Include:Establish and maintain open, professional, and respectful communications with students, parents, teachers, and the athletics department.Coaches will assist all individuals in their sport to grow socially and emotionally through positive feedback and timely and sensitive communication.Ensure that all coaches work together toward a common goal within their respected programs.Coaches must keep informed and up to date on league rules.Coaches will attempt to promote school spirit, team spirit, and cohesiveness.High School Diploma Required / Bachelor’s degree preferredPrevious coaching experienceKnowledge of age appropriate training techniques for the middle school level grade 6-8.Has a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sportMust have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, parents, and studentsAvailability for all mandatory school and league meetings, and athletic eventsConnections to the local, state and national community in your sport and attract coaches and qualified student-athletes to our schoolAbility to provide meaningful assistance to students who wish to pursue the sport beyond high school.Previous experience playing the sport at a high school varsity, AAU, collegiate or professional level.Ability to increase students’ understanding of game strategy and develop players’ individual areas of growth.Demonstrate the highest level of character and professionalism with excellent ethicsDemonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all athletic participants.Strong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated excellent attendance and punctualityMust pass a LiveScan fingerprinting background checkA clean driving record and valid California driver’s license.
