Unit Information

Unit Name: Cath Lab

Number of Beds: 11 procedure rooms (5 Cath, 4 EP, 2 hybrid OR)

Patient Ratios: 1 patient to 3 staff

Staffing Description

Unit staff includes Cath/EP Techs and Cath/EP RNs, with support from unit secretaries.

Equipment Used

• GE and Philips X-ray systems
• Volcano IVUS/FFR
• Merge Hemo

Documentation System

Merge Hemo and Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

Shifts: 4 x 10 hour shifts (6:30 AM to 5:00 PM)

Floating Policy

Team members may float to prep and recovery areas only.

Patient Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.

Certifications Required

• Technologists: RCIS, RCES, or RT(R), ACLS, BLS
• Registered Nurses: RN licensure, ACLS, BLS

Requested Skill Set

• Technologists: Experience in scrubbing and monitoring Cath Lab and/or EP procedures
• Registered Nurses: Experience in monitoring and circulating Cath Lab and/or EP procedures

Advanced Skills Needed

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Experience in Cath Lab and/or EP Lab

Procedures Performed in Unit

Cath Lab: Diagnostic, PCI, Rotoblator, Laser atherectomies, ECMO, TAVR, Mitr Clips, Watchman, IVUS, FFR, complex PCI, CTO, Shockwave, Pernumbra

EP Lab: EP studies, pacemakers, ICD, ablations (excluding cryo ablations), Micra pacemakers, loop recorders, and lead extractions including laser lead extractions.
