Title: VP – Project Finance Credit Officer & Portfolio Risk Analyst

Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY

Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 + Bonus

Overview:

This Vice President-level opportunity sits within the Project Finance function of a well-established global financial institution, offering a well-rounded mandate spanning independent credit analysis, transaction approval, portfolio monitoring, and risk controls oversight across a diversified project finance portfolio. The role covers key infrastructure and energy sectors — including Renewables, Power, LNG, Data Centers, Digital Infrastructure, and Commodity Finance — and combines hands-on credit officer responsibilities with active portfolio management and first-line risk governance. It's an ideal fit for a credit-trained project finance professional with 5–8 years of experience who brings deep sector knowledge, strong financial modeling skills, sound independent credit judgment, and the ability to engage credibly across Relationship Managers, Credit Committees, Legal, and Risk Management functions. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct independent credit assessments and prepare high-quality credit recommendations for complex project finance transactions including Renewables, Power, LNG, Data Centers, Infrastructure, and Trade & Commodity Finance facilities

Lead joint due diligence vetting, structuring, and analysis on potential transactions; prepare credit assessments including adjudication opinions, financial projections, and stress tests for review and approval

Present and defend credit cases before the Credit Approval Committee and Credit Management Committee; prepare approval forms and conditions precedent documentation; vet that all CPs are satisfactorily met prior to closing and funding

Review legal documents with a focus on credit terms including covenants, collateral, amortization, interest rates, and other special provisions; review GCMS entries accordingly

Validate Obligor Risk Ratings, Basel parameters including LGDs, and other key financial metrics across the project finance portfolio

Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and prepare management reports covering portfolio performance, KRI and EWI tracking, watchlist designations, and portfolio optimization proposals

Monitor the project finance portfolio on an ongoing basis; develop action plans for problem loans in collaboration with Relationship Managers and internal credit and monitoring departments; manage timely submission of credit reviews and covenant uploads into internal systems

Act as Risk and Internal Control Officer for the Project Finance business unit; lead execution of business unit risk assessments including RCSA, NPS, BIA, and CCRA; perform periodic control testing and drive remediation of identified issues

Validate and maintain ORM KRI xhyhwjd metrics; lead issue management activities including issue identification, action plan design, remediation tracking, and closure

Perform interim and scheduled annual post-disbursement reviews jointly with Relationship Managers; attend to all audit, loan review, and regulatory requirements

Partner with Relationship Managers and Product teams to develop robust credit proposals including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and stress testing; provide independent challenge to business stakeholders ensuring transactions align with risk appetite and credit policies

Contribute to credit policy guidelines and risk appetite frameworks; assess new business initiatives including white papers and New Product Committees from a project finance credit risk perspective

Assist with deal closing coordination on an as-needed basis; prepare credit ratings, credit line applications, and closing documentation; participate in lender calls and produce meeting minutes
