The Social Worker performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial assessment needs while enabling them to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. This includes providing basic consultations, teaching, and specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care. Crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, group therapy, the facilitation of interagency meetings, treatment planning, discharge planning and the provision of referral information is also provided by Social Workers.
