Applied AI Engineer

Seeking a full-time Applied AI Engineer, the position focuses on developing AI-powered applications and services, building data pipelines, and ensuring AI evaluation and reliability, with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and offering remote work within the Continental US. Key responsibilities Design and develop AI applications using commercial and open-source models, while evaluating their capabilities and operational requirements Build data ingestion and transformation pipelines for various data sources and automate data collection and analysis processes Own the evaluation of AI features, establishing measurable criteria for performance and implementing regression testing for continuous improvement Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience 5+ years of professional experience in software, data, ML, or AI engineering with a track record of building and deploying technical solutions Proficiency in Python or another modern programming language and experience with at least one commercial or open-source LLM and its API Experience with APIs, data pipelines, cloud services, and containerization using Docker and AWS ECR/ECS Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems independently and effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
