The Opportunity We are seeking a mission-driven Accounting Director to help steward our financial health and ensure our resources continue to make a lasting impact. You will be the steady hand guiding our financial operations, providing clarity to our Board, and ensuring our grant partners and community members trust our stewardship. What You'll Do Strategic Financial Oversight :You will manage the financial lifecycle, from annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting to ensuring the accuracy of financial statements across our various entities. Grant and Compliance Stewardship :You'll be the bridge between our program outcomes and our financial reporting, managing grant agreements and ensuring we remain compliant and audit ready. Treasury and Daily Operations :You will manage our cash flow, banking relationships, and daily accounting functions, ensuring our operational systems (AP, Payroll, reconciliations) are reliable, efficient, and transparent. Reporting and Governance :You will serve as a key partner to our Finance Committee and Board of Directors, translating complex data into clear, actionable reports that help guide our organization's long-term strategy. Team Leadership :You will mentor and supervise our Accounting Coordinator, fostering a culture of accuracy, growth, and teamwork. Who You Are An Experienced Steward :You have a solid background in accounting and non-profit financial management. You understand the nuances of fund accounting, multi-entity structures, and grant compliance. Collaborative & Approachable :You enjoy working with Program Directors and board members alike. You can explain financial data in a way that empowers others to make informed decisions. Highly Organized and Detail Oriented : You take pride in "audit-ready" records, clear internal controls, and efficient processes. Reliable:You understand the importance of timely payroll, accurate deposits, and consistent reporting. You are the person the team relies on to keep things running smoothly. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field required. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and financial reporting software. Experience managing multi-entity accounting and grant compliance in a non-profit setting. Demonstrated ability to prepare budgets, forecasts, and lead annual audits. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on internal controls and process improvement. Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of supervising accounting staff.
