Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 42-bed ICU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, and up to 1:3 when no vents or drips are present
• Titrate a wide variety of critical care drips including vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, sedatives, paralytics, analgesics, and anticoagulants
• Manage complex patient populations including cardiac, respiratory, sepsis, DKA, CHF, and trauma cases
• Collaborate with an in-house intensivist team available 24 hours a day, as well as Respiratory Therapy for ventilator management, intubation, and ABGs
• Float to other units as needed, with a reduced patient assignment of up to 4 patients when floating
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 major holidays per contract

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (recent experience required)
• Recent experience in a Trauma Level I or II hospital setting
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical ventilation, sedation management, vasopressors, sepsis protocols, DKA, cardiac care, CHF, and respiratory management
• Must meet 100-mile radius requirement from facility location

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced cardiac interventions such as balloon pumps, Impella, and tPA administration
• Familiarity with therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) and management of post-intervention neurological patients
• Well-rounded experience titrating a broad range of critical care drips across multiple drug classes
