We provide a healthy work-life balance, outstanding perks such as generous bonuses and a 5% employer contribution to your 401K, a mix of SEC and privately held clients from various industries, and a direct path to Partnership!Tax Director ResponsibilitiesCompletes technical tax assessments and approval for all tax filings and government tax audits of varying complexities.Serves as an expert in the field or industry.Handles all client service tasks and ensures projects are completed within set timelines and budgets.Takes charge of larger tax returns and delegates to tax preparers as needed.Participates in client meetings and tax planning to support the A&A Department with major clients.Acts as a resource for tax preparers, specialists, and A&A staff on tax matters.Handles client service duties for clients the Tax Manager directly works with or as assigned by the Partner.Communicates important tax updates to the firm's personnel.Delegates and oversees government tax audits; may represent clients to tax authorities.Stays up-to-date on the qualifications of all tax staff and reviews staff assignments.Supports in recruiting, evaluating, and training tax staff for professional growth.Ensures accurate billing and collections processes.Maintains the firm's philosophy and stance on tax matters.Stays informed on economic and political trends that impact tax or business environments.Contributes to firm development through engagement in community and industry initiatives.Coaches and trains senior, semi-senior, and staff accountants.Understands the qualifications of Tax staff for training needs.Contributes to tax department reviews and evaluations.May need to travel occasionally for client work, meetings, or seminars.Occasional overtime is required, with heavier periods from January to April.Qualifications:Seven to ten years of public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity and responsibility.At least two years representing clients to tax authorities.Minimum one year supervising tax preparers.Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master's in taxation preferred.Mandatory forty hours of annual continuing education for skill development.Active CPA license and American Institute of CPAs membership.
