Producer in Training

Job Overview Brown & Brown is hiring a Producer in Training to work in Troy, Michigan. The role focuses on increasing sales volume, new client development, and client retention through relationship management and collaboration across teams. Responsibilities Build a network of professional relationships and identify new leads that meet company standards. Establish, cultivate, and manage customer relationships and partner with carrier associates and internal resources. Conduct risk management surveys, determine coverage needs, and advise clients on insurance options. Provide professional advice on improving insurance and risk programs. Secure and prepare documentation for new business, renewal proposals, and quote negotiations. Present and sell new business and renewal proposals to client decision‑makers. Review and resolve client disputes concerning complex claims. Follow agency guidelines, policies, and procedures, including the Insurance Coverage Review form. Participate in social, civic, trade organizations, and industry associates to promote the company image. Promote teamwork within the department and profit center. Qualifications Valid Producer license in good standing within 90 days of hire. College degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management or related field, or equivalent experience. Strong technical knowledge of all lines of insurance coverage. Familiarity with agency management systems and other insurance sales applications.
