Job Description Medical Assistant – Dumfries, VA Spectrum Healthcare Resources , in partnership with Kako'o, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join the team at the Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center in Fairfax, Virginia. This is a full-time opportunity to work in an outpatient healthcare setting supporting the care of active-duty military members, veterans, and their dependents . Position Details Employment: Full-time employee position Flexible Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 8 hour shifts between 7am-8pm No on-call re sponsibilities No federal holiday shifts Location: Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center Why Join Us? Work in an outpatient environment with updated facilities Enjoy a consistent schedule and work-life balance Serve a military-connected patient population Work alongside a professional healthcare team No on-call requirements or federal holiday shifts Employee status with a comprehensive benefits package Make a meaningful contribution by supporting the healthcare needs of our nation's military community Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors and assist with the check-in process Review medical records and ensure required documentation is complete and properly maintained Verify patient eligibility and assist with required insurance and identification documentation Schedule and coordinate treatments, appointments, and services as requested by providers Answer and appropriately route telephone calls while maintaining patient confidentiality Respond to patient questions and administrative concerns and direct clinical concerns to the appropriate staff Maintain front-desk forms, supplies, and inventory Assist clinical staff with obtaining and tracking medical records, pathology reports, imaging, and other documentation Maintain accurate logs and electronic records as required Prepare routine correspondence, medical statements, and other documentation as directed Provide general administrative and clerical support to the clinical team Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited college Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare setting Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Proficiency with computers, basic word processing, data entry, and electronic medical records U.S. citizenship required Make a Difference in Military Healthcare This is an opportunity to use your Medical Assistant experience in a professional outpatient setting while supporting active-duty service members, veterans, and their families .
