Adjunct Instructor - Nursing Assistant

Overview Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Health, you will provide instruction for Nursing Assistant courses, maintain course documentation, and communicate with the Nursing Assistant Program. Pay will vary by course. Responsibilities Provide on‑site instruction in entry‑level caregiving for Nursing Assistants. Plan, select, prepare, and implement appropriate active‑learning activities to meet all course competencies. Prepare and/or select reliable and valid formative and summative in‑class assessment tools to measure students’ achievement of course competencies. Distribute, in written form, course competencies, performance criteria, approved grading procedures, attendance and class policies, and other necessary information to students at the beginning of the course. Deliver instruction using active learning methods that accommodate different learning styles. Provide guidance and advice to students regarding course progress, program areas, or other academic concerns. Review and revise delivery methods, instructional materials, learning activities, and assessment tools based on assessments and program evaluation. Collaborate with other colleges and staff members within your program and ancillary services such as library, media, bookstore, and IT to integrate instructional activities and materials. Qualifications Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Wisconsin. Minimum two years’ experience as a registered nurse, including at least one year in a nursing home or long‑term care facility. Active nursing license in the State of Wisconsin. At least two years of teaching experience with Nursing Assistant courses (preferred). Two years recent experience in Home Health Care or other settings utilizing Nursing Assistants. Ability to deliver instruction using active learning methods that accommodate different learning styles. Ability to plan, select, prepare, and implement appropriate active‑learning activities and assessment tools. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience working with diverse populations. Ability to collaborate with colleagues and staff. Working knowledge of computer concepts. Maintains competency in the occupational field. Benefits Adjunct position, not benefit eligible. Schedule and class load vary; may include days, evenings, weekends, summer, spring and fall semesters.
