About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: EPIC EMR experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months Basic Dysrhythmia test must be passed during the first week of the assignment Description: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A Basic Dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week of the assignment. This must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/med-surg unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to the following patient populations: geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry. The estimated work week is 36 hours, with the possibility of overtime. Candidate may be required to float to other campuses at times. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/surg ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Floating is a requirement for any non-critical care inpatient units including the emergency department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may occasionally float to critical care units. ACU required every other weekend rotation. Telemetry and med/surg experience required.
