PET/CT Technologist

Job Summary The pay range for this position is between $54-$70 per hour based on direct and relevant experience. RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to operate scanners and deliver high‑quality imaging and patient care. This part‑time role includes approximately 35 hours per week, 7:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (90%) Patient PET/CT Imaging Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure. Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning patients properly. Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated body portions for use by physicians, providing support throughout the procedure. Adjusts PET/CT scan parameters and utilizes dose reduction techniques as needed. Maintains positive attitudes and working relationships with the radiologist, referring customers, and peers. Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations. Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting safety habits. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use. Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines. Assesses, prepares, records, and administers radiopharmaceuticals according to NRC and/or state regulations and departmental policies. Administers fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients. Demonstrates safety‑related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance. Reports contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer. (5%) PET/CT Department Support Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary. Assists with training of new associates. Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment. Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC and/or state regulations. (5%) Completes other tasks as assigned Requirements Required: NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing. Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the applicable state, if required. Current CPR certification. Training and experience sufficient to perform PET/CT procedures independently. Certification in imaging specialty. Preferred: Bilingual. ARRT certification in CT. NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
