Applications Analyst | Epic Certified

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Applications Analyst, where you will play a vital role in implementing and supporting third-party application systems such as Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Workday. This position requires collaboration within a team environment, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills delivered with professionalism.

General Summary

The Applications Analyst is responsible for analyzing workflows and business requirements to recommend system configurations. You will present new functionalities to operational teams and execute system configurations while adhering to change control processes to ensure optimal functioning of EHR and other designated applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze workflows and business needs to suggest system configurations.
  • Collaborate with security analysts to manage appropriate access and security permissions.
  • Work closely with IT teams for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of compatible devices.
  • Research and resolve user issues and reportable problems.
  • Provide daily and on-call support for EHR and third-party systems.
  • Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to improve workflows.
  • Create and execute testing plans for system configurations and upgrades.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise using available resources.
  • Perform additional integrated roles as needed.
Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Mathematics, Healthcare Informatics, or Computer Science is preferred.

Experience
  • Strong customer service skills with effective verbal and written communication.
  • Proven ability to set goals, develop action plans, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing information from multiple sources to develop efficient workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and change management skills to foster positive working relationships.
  • Preferred experience with data analysis, performance metrics, and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Background in information technology or healthcare-related IT roles is preferred.
  • Experience supporting, training, building, or configuring EMR/third-party systems is a plus.
Certifications
  • Epic certifications in one or more applications are preferred. New hires must obtain Epic certification within three months of completing training.
  • Certifications or training related to other third-party systems as required.
Mental and Physical Requirements

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and produce technical documentation. Occasional work during unusual hours may be necessary to resolve technical issues. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, and moderate lifting (up to 10 lbs).

Working Conditions

Standard office environment with climate control and consistent noise from equipment. Extensive computer use may cause visual or muscular discomfort. Potential exposure to infectious diseases. Regularly scheduled after-hours support for system upgrades and downtime is expected, including participation in on-call rotations.
