Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized neonatal intensive care to critically ill or premature infants in a Level IV NICU setting. Deliver comprehensive patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and clinical excellence while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Administer neonatal medications, blood products, and manage IV lines, central lines, and UAC/UVC as per protocol.
• Monitor and support respiratory functions using CPAP, HFNC, ventilators, and manage airway suctioning and oxygen delivery systems.
• Perform and document clinical procedures including phlebotomy, thermoregulation, phototherapy, and feeding assistances.
• Educate families on neonatal care, feeding, and medical procedures to ensure informed participation.
• Manage clinical documentation and charting within EPIC EMR system accurately.
• Respond promptly to unit needs including floating within skill set, maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of current Level III NICU experience in a hospital setting.
• BLS and NRP certifications must be current; PALS preferred.
• Demonstrated competence in neonatal care procedures, medication administration, and respiratory support.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Strong communication skills for family education and interdisciplinary coordination.
